We participated in the #GreatBritishBeachClean campaign run by Marine Conservation Society and Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society Ltd to help clear tonnes of rubbish from our coastline.

Have you seen the video of our day on LinkedIn or Instagram yet?

Every September thousands of people across the UK head to our coastlines to take part in the ‘Great British Beach Clean’. This year’s event ran between Friday 15th – Sunday 24th September 2023. As a team, we went to East Beach, Shoeburyness, and were joined by companies such as NatWest and Barclays.

The weather was beautiful and we were kitted out with litter pickers, gloves and data information sheets.

We completed a two-hour clean along a 200m stretch of beach, plus some of the surrounding grass areas. The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all and we all managed to collect approximately 80kg of rubbish.

Thank you to the Chelmsford Litter Wombles, KEGs School and The Southend Tourist Office for loaning us equipment.

We can all do our bit by fighting for a cleaner, better-protected and healthier ocean: one we can all enjoy!
