How we helped...
After the fall of Carillion in 2018, the Ministry of Justice was forced to create a new government-owned facilities management company, Gov Facility Services Ltd. The new company took over the delivery of the prison facilities management services across 52 prison establishments, providing essential services such as cleaning, reactive maintenance, landscaping and planned building repair works on behalf of Her Majesty’s Prison and Probationary Services (HMPPS).
CI Projects were commissioned to support the transition of services over to Gov Facility Services Ltd. Around 1,000 staff, including contractors who were previously employed by Carillion, needed to be moved across to the new company. The government was clear that its priority was to ensure the smooth running of public services.
Our team of specialists were embedded into the organisation to support with an array of transition and transformation activities, including the development of a new Target Operating Model, establishing new business processes across HR and Operational services and mobilising new IT infrastructure.
With our preparation and support for this project the transition to the Gov Facility Services Limited was completed and the mandate that there was to be no disruption to prison maintenance was fulfilled.
