As a Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Award winner, we had the pleasure of being invited to a private event at FSB’s new Westminster Offices to be in the company of Senior Cabinet Minister, the Rt Hon Kemi Badenoch MP, serving as Secretary of State for Business and Trade and President of the Board of Trade and Minister for Women and Equalities.

Representation from SMEs like us is important in resolving barriers to economic development such as market failures, government regulations and labour challenges. There are c.5.5 million SMEs, which make up over 99% of UK private sector businesses.

Business and Trade Secretary Kemi Badenoch said:

“I have made it a priority to knock down the barriers holding back British businesses and that prevent them from selling more of their goods and services around the world, creating new jobs, and paying higher wages.”

“As an independent trading nation Britain can now get to grips with these blockages. So I’m very proud that since becoming Trade Secretary we’ve been able to unlock billions for the UK economy, and I look forward to smashing even more barriers to ensure our businesses thrive.”

We are grateful to FSB for establishing a platform for our voices to be heard by senior cabinet ministers and will continue to represent SMEs like ourselves and speak for the larger organisations we serve to make an impact.
